Kiki and Nick held their wedding at Waverley Country Club on August 27th, 2022. The former high school sweethearts envisioned an intimate black-tie affair. We were delighted to help them bring that vision to life at one of our favorite Portland wedding venues. The couple’s loved ones were so excited to watch them finally tie the knot. So, it was a collaborative effort in creating the most stunning day imaginable. The celebratory mood lasted all day and night, from the waterfront ceremony to the bouquet toss!

Planning a Wedding at Waverly Country Club

Kiki and Nick invested in our complete planning services for a carefully curated wedding day, down to the details.  They came to us later in 2022, so it was a push to book every vendor in time. Thankfully, our team still had success booking some of the best vendors in Portland to ensure excellence in every aspect of the day. Crave Design custom-designed the couple’s invitation suite. Then, Letters & Dust hand-lettered all signage for their ceremony and reception—including a stunning mirrored seating chart. Our team oversaw every detail while coordinating rentals from West Coast Event Productions, designing the event, and managing the vendor team. It was a massive effort that culminated in a stunningly beautiful wedding!

When Kiki and Nick expressed interest in having a photo booth at their reception, we immediately contacted Vanity Portrait Studio. Miraculously, they were also available on the couple’s wedding date! VPS provides much more than your run-of-the-mill photo booth experience by posing guests, editing the photos, and placing them on a lovely matboard for guests to take home. Kiki has a large Greek family, and a photo booth was the perfect way to ensure everyone went home with a keepsake.

Black-Tie Wedding Reception in a Sailcloth Tent

Kiki and Nick’s sailcloth tent reception epitomized elegance, from the décor to the cuisine. They selected a timeless black-and-white color palette to direct the design, which looked strikingly beautiful against the brilliant green of the outdoor setting. Our team situated black tables and chairs throughout the tent and hung white drapery from every side to compound the elegant effect. Meanwhile, swaths of greenery and creamy ivory blossoms from Haute Flowers adorned every tent post and tablescape. 

A wedding at Waverley Country Club wouldn’t be complete without a delicious meal from their in-house caterer, and Kiki and Nick’s wedding also excelled in this aspect. Kiki and her family are in the restaurant business and took an exceptional interest in the food served. They carefully curated a gourmet, four-course meal for their guests, and each successive dish set a new standard for event cuisine! A menu of custom cocktails accompanied the meal, including a seasonal “Sunset Paloma” with lime and grapefruit.
