Blue and White Outdoor Wedding at Oswego Lake Country Club

Oswego Lake Country Club summer wedding

We had the privilege of planning some incredible weddings in the summer of 2022, and Claire and Max’s outdoor wedding at Oswego Lake Country Club was the cream of the crop! The two met in high school and have been together ever since. Their wedding exuded the romance of their love story, with elegant blue and white details. Claire is a dear friend. So, we knew that her love of Qinghua porcelain, or blue-and-white pottery, would be the perfect jumping-off point for planning her country club wedding. We’re delighted to share Sweetlife Photography’s stunning documentation of this day and to announce this wedding’s feature in Style Me Pretty!

A Beautiful Bride and Flawless Florals

Claire and Max’s wedding day at Oswego Lake Country Club dawned warm and bright, with the air full of anticipation. Tiffany Randolph Beauty provided hair and makeup services for Claire and her bridesmaids. Claire couldn’t have been a more beautiful bride. She looked radiant in a strapless satin ballgown with her hair pulled into a sleek bun. She could have stepped off the pages of Town & Country! Claire’s bridesmaids also wore white, and we adored how their blue hydrangea bouquets stood out against their gowns. Meanwhile, Claire carried a soft pastel bouquet of garden roses and peonies.

The floral design throughout the wedding day was a highlight, thanks to the talents of Haute Flowers. Blue delphinium atop Grecian-inspired pedestals and porcelain vases filled with blue hydrangeas framed the couple at their ceremony. Later, more vases of hydrangeas took the role of table centerpieces at their reception. However, our favorite floral feature from the day was the reception entryway table. It was covered in porcelain vases filled with pink flowers of all shades and varieties. The contrast between the blue pottery and the pink blossoms was stunning!

Summer Wedding at Oswego Lake Country Club

After both had dressed in their finery, Claire and Max met outside for a first look, followed by a private reading of their vows. Then, they posed for portraits together and with their bridal parties. Finally, it was time for their ceremony on the Oswego Lake Country Club golf course. With the soft sounds of Duo Con Brio floating through the air, the two exchanged rings and became husband and wife. It was a hot day (almost 100 degrees!). Their guests sheltered from the sun underneath pretty paper parasols. Ensuring the comfort of your guests is the most vital part of planning an outdoor wedding ceremony. So, we were glad we took this measure to ensure no one overheated or burned.

Blue and White Wedding Day Details

The couple’s guests stayed outdoors for cocktail hour and enjoyed a seasonal menu featuring an Aperol spritz, gin and tonic, and a ginger tamarind margarita. Then, they moved indoors to continue the celebration, where an elegant blue and white dining space awaited them. Our team spread each table with a blue or white satin tablecloth, topped with contrasting fabric napkins.

Meanwhile, white bistro chairs from Arden Event Collective and hand-lettered table numbers from Letters & Dust elevated the design. The bride’s sister, Lauren, had hand painted drawings of the country club for the invitations. But then, she took it one step further and created hand-painted escort cards for the head table. Although we only provided partial planning services for this wedding, Claire involved our team in every aspect of creating her dream vision. We were so proud of how this space brought it to life!

Whether you’re seeking full or partial planning services for your Portland wedding, our team has the logistical expertise and design savvy to take your wedding vision from ideas on a page to a fully realized event. Ready to get started? Share the details of your event with us here.
